Mary Kurth (Program Director)
Mary brings nearly 20 years of experience in nonprofit human services, having worked for organizations such as Golden Gate Community Center, Habitat for Humanity, and the Hemophilia Association. Additionally she has served on boards of Valley Leadership, Westside Food Bank, and the Organization for Nonprofit Executives. A native of Phoenix and an ASU alumna, Mary lives in Cave Creek with her husband and two Australian Shepherd dogs.

Scott Cerreta (Program Manager/Provider Educator)
Scott is a COPD Program Manager and Provider Educator for the American Lung Association in Arizona. He has been instrumental in launching the COPD Specialist course curriculum. Scott has over 16 years of professional experience as a registered respiratory therapist and is a graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in Cellular Biology and Physiology. He has written several peer-review articles on respiratory pharmacology. For eight consecutive years, Scott has volunteered as a respiratory therapist for Camp Not-a-Wheeze, a summer camp for children that suffer from asthma. As a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy, Scott was awarded three Navy Achievement medals and Sailor of the Year honors at U.S. Naval Hospital, Naples, Italy.

Charles Monroe (Coalition Manager)
Charles is a member of the COPD Collaborative Team as the COPD Coalition Manager. His main focus is COPD awareness and the management and coordination of the COPD Coalition in Northern Arizona. Charles’ background is in respiratory therapy. He has a passion for creating opportunities for COPD awareness to inform patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals about COPD and its devastating effects. Charles is currently planning for the 2010 Respiratory Rally.

Amber Fahs (Coalition Manager)
Amber is the COPD Coalition Manager for Southern Arizona. She graduated with a Master’s of Science in Health Education from the University of New Mexico in 2005. Her passion for health and wellness brought her to Arizona where she worked at Canyon Ranch Health Resort. She joined the American Lung Association in 2007 as a Program Coordinator for S.W.A.T. (Students Working Against Tobacco). This opportunity allowed her to work directly with youth, informing them of the dangers of tobacco use. Her newest role has allowed her to focus on raising awareness for COPD and encouraging community members to join the Coalition. She also runs the monthly COPD support group, Better Breathers. Amber has worked in health education for more than 6 years and is excited to be part of one of the leading COPD Coalitions in the United States

Alice Myskowski (Data Coordinator)
Alice is the data coordinator for the American Lung Association‘s COPD collaborative and joined the team in September 2008. Before coming to ALA Alice worked as a certified nursing assistant for 15 years. She also has 10 years of experience specializing in human resources and worked with the general public as a central support clerk with Taste of Safeway. Currently, she is responsible for tracking COPD Coalition recruits, provider education class participants as well as being involved in health fairs and various American Lung Association events.
